Sunday ART Brunch – A very special culinary event by Danny Frede

Since March 2018, our guests (and of course we too!) enjoy a very special solo exhibition in the house. Cologne based artist Danny Frede presents his art in group and solo exhibitions in Germany and around the world, including Cologne, Dusseldorf, Dresden, Berlin, Vienna, Seoul, Los Angeles, and, by the end of the day and not to forget, also in Meerbusch-Buederich near Dusseldorf.

Until winter of 2018/19, Danny Frede shows his “Serial rectangles” in the public areas of Hotel Villa Meererbusch. A multitude of more that 30 works, from very small to really large, seem to charge space with energy and a peculiar rhythm. A rhythm which is driven by the diversity of this series of spatially and partially colored accentuated rectangles. The same shape is never uniform, but full of variation, energetic and almost sculptural due to it’s characteristic surface, which can be glossy or dull, sometimes even heavy, with rich gold or rusty patina.

The official opening event for „Serial Rectangles“ was a pleasure for all senses. Danny Frede invited his guests, friends and admirers of his art, to a very exclusive Sunday brunch. Equally a feast for the eyes and a culinary delight, and a stimulating afternoon with interesting guests and lively discussions in a relaxed atmosphere, in the midst of really good art.
